The Maltby Centre is taking steps to keep the children and youth that it serves, and their families, safe. Today, the 25 year old children and youth mental health and autism services agency is announcing that it is requiring staff, volunteers, students and contractors to be fully-vaccinated. Maltby will provide accommodations under the Ontario Human Rights Code for those who qualify. For staff, volunteers, students, and contractors who receive a vaccine exemption under the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Agency will require twice weekly COVID-19 rapid testing.
“We expect that all of our staff, volunteers, students and contractors will be fully-vaccinated under our new policy. We will accommodate those who seek exemption under the Ontario Human Rights Code. For those who remain unvaccinated and not accommodated we will follow our established human resources practices”, said Executive Director Karen Fleming.
The new policy goes into effect September 16, 2021. The Maltby Centre is committed to the privacy of employees and others connected to the Agency’s work. As such it will not be commenting about individual staff member’s vaccination status.
