Friday won’t be a typical night at the Mansion; local indie band Willy Nilly will be doing a live show to showcase their new album “Dogs in Heaven.” The band is “psyched” to be back and hopes to bring upbeat music to partygoers.
Music from the band’s new album has received positive reception, with one of their songs already being featured on Hockey Night in Canada.
The album, originally released in December 2021, contains nine tracks and contains a mix of folk, lyrical music, and a “smorgasbord” of sounds. Lead vocalist Owen Fullerton says the album is “about things falling out of place and trying to figure out where you fit in the wake of that.”
Fullerton says that his favourite song on the album is “Talk,” because he says that it’s a fun song to play and has taken on new life.
“[The song] is basically about doing the same things over and over and expecting change,” Fullerton says.
Tomorrow’s show will be composed of Owen, who is the lead singer, Devin Pierce who is the drummer, Yan Nick who plays bass and Gabe Leger who plays guitar.
The live show will take place on Friday, April 15th at the Mansion. Doors will open at 8:00pm. VISSIA is slated to start at around 8:20, followed by Dr. Draw at 9:15pm and finally Willy Nilly at around 10:15pm.
