Downtown Kingston’s new end-of-summer festival RoadTrip is set to become a staple after a successful first run earlier this month.
All day on Saturday, Sep. 12, the downtown core was taken over by the RoadTrip Music Festival and accompanying street festival. Attendees enjoyed four stages of live music featuring eleven artists, as well as a kilometre-long street party on Princess St. featuring more than 140 businesses, community groups, and vendors. The day included events like drag story time, line dancing, and a vintage car show, before being capped off by a ticketed mainstage concert headlined by Vancouver indie band Peach Pit, which filled Springer Market Square.
Downtown Kingston BIA Events Manager Sandi Griffiths sits down with CFRC to share more about the festival’s first run, and what comes next.
