On December 27th, Bell Media announced that it would be revamping ten of its stations across Canada, including Kingston’s 98.3 FLY FM.
While the brand would be changing, the newly branded Move 98.3 assured audiences that the hosts would remain the same. “The music you love has a new home! 98.3 FLY FM is now MOVE 98.3! Starting January 4th, wake up with Reid & Ben In The Morning,” said a post on Move 98.3’s Twitter page.
The rebranding is part of a broader realignment and consolidation strategy nationwide. Leading up to the re-launch, Bell Media had consolidated its Contemporary Hit Radio and Country Outlets as “Virgin Radio” and “Pure Country.” Bell is now seeking to shift from playing Adult Contemporary Music to Hot Adult Contemporary Music on its “Move” stations.
The new stations are positioning themselves as “Today’s Best Variety.” The Hosts will be recurring as of January 4th, 2021.
