Mitech, a local machinery and metal fabrication shop in Napanee, temporarily closed on Friday due to a COVID-19 outbreak among its employees. At least three workers have now tested positive and several people are now isolating.Â
The news of the outbreak was initially confirmed by KFLA Public Health on Friday. Following the declaration of the outbreak, family members of the plant took to social media to warn the community about the spread of the virus at the industrial plant. The post quickly went viral, receiving over 500 shares.
Reportedly, the outbreak is not related to the new variant. The family members posted about the outbreak on social media in efforts to encourage the community to stay home.
YGK News reached out to Mitech but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
More information to come.
