Kingston’s largest indoor play place has announced that it will be closing permanently as of August 31st, 2021 at 5pm. The news comes just three weeks after the facility reopened to the public, in line with Ontario’s reopening guidelines.
“After several decades of being Kingston’s best spot for kids and families, Playtrium will be permanently closing on August 31 at 5pm,” wrote Playtrium management on their Facebook page on Monday. The Playtrium is encouraging everyone to stop by this month to make one more lasting memory at the facility.
“We would like to thank all of the great kids and parents that have come through our doors over the years.”
The Playtrium was open 7 days a week with no reservations required.
Dedicated fans of the Playtrium reacted to the news on social media. “I am so heartbroken to hear this!!! Playtrium has been the absolute favourite spot for our family to visit, even us adults have fun too!!!” one user said. “So many memories here with family and friends. You will truly be missed!!!!”
While many had fond memories of the location, others noted that the facility has appeared “rundown” in recent years. “That’s really sad , but over the last few years it become really run down it needs a major facelift maybe someone else will buy it and make it pretty again,” one user noted.
