Come to an open house to learn more about KFPL’s Extended Hours Project

Do you have questions about the Kingston Frontenac Public Library’s proposed Extended Hours Project?  Join us for a conversation at an upcoming open house!

KFPL is considering the use of technology to extend access to our Pittsburgh Branch in Kingston’s East end. Extended hours would supplement our existing hours of operation to provide access to space and resources that would otherwise be inaccessible for many hours a week. The Extended Hours Project has been included in the 2022 capital plan and our budget request to the City of Kingston. Find out more about the project here.

Drop in to the Pittsburgh Branch Wednesday, Dec. 8 from 2 to 6 p.m. or Saturday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m.  to 2 p.m. to learn more about how the project would work and what it would mean for library service at the Pittsburgh Branch. Community members can also join a Zoom open house Thursday, Dec. 9 from  5 to 8 p.m. Registration is required for the Zoom event and is available at https://calendar.kfpl.ca/ event/5894019.

Director, Service Design and Delivery, Kimberly Sutherland Mills, will be on hand at all open houses to answer your questions and share the next steps in our engagement process so that you can be involved.

“Kingston East continues to grow and an expansion of library services at has been in our plans since  2004,” Sutherland Mills shared. “We’re looking for innovative ways to extend our services within budget constraints. This project would increase access to the branch and its resources by 22 hours per  week, bringing hours of operation from 38 to 60 hours each week.”

Questions or additional comments may also be directed to Sutherland Mills at km****@kf**.ca or (613)  549-8888 x3520.
