Queen’s University has announced that they are maintaining several COVID-19 requirements as restrictions are lifted provincially.

“Following today’s announcement by the University with regards to the Return-to-campus health and safety reminders, Athletics & Recreation (A&R) wishes to highlight…important reminders for all those entering A&R athletics and recreation facilities, when engaging in A&R programs or when attending sport events,” wrote the Queen’s Athletics & Recreation Centre on Tuesday.

Queen’s students, staff and community members will continue to need to show an enhanced vaccinations certificate with a QR code, along with an ID showing their ID number or their government-issued ID. Additionally, enhanced screening from the Qsecure app will need to take place at check-in.

At a minimum, ASTM Level 2 medical-grade masks will need to be worn at all times within the ARC. Queen’s has provided all students with a box of 50 ASTM Level 2 medical-grade masks through their faculties. However, they will need to purchase additional masks once they run out of their supply. Staff has also been provided with masks that can be used at the ARC.

The Queen’s ARC is one of the few fitness facilities in Kingston to announce that proof of vaccination will still be required.

Facility users are asked to visit the Safe Return to Campus website for up-to-date information.
