One of Kingston’s top high school football players has committed to playing with the Queen’s Gaels in the fall

Holy Cross Secondary School student Quinten George is one of the latest to commit to playing Varsity Football with the Queen’s University Gaels next fall. George is considered one of Kingston’s top high school football players in Kingston and will be joining Raleigh Dawson, who attends Lasalle Secondary School and has also committed to playing with the Gaels next fall.

George says he’s committed to Queen’s for its high academic reputation and its coaching staff.

“When choosing Queen’s I first took into account their high academic reputation as one of the best universities in the world. Secondly the culture and pride that Queen’s university provides to its students and athletes is second to none. Lastly, the connections that the Coaching staff at Queen’s really welcome you as a player and a person. They care about your success as an individual, sitting down with my family and evaluating our situation and answering all of our questions to the best of their ability really made the decision easy for us,” George told YGK News.

George intends to play junior football with the Kingston Gaels before heading off to training camp this summer.

Next fall is currently expected to see varsity sports return to normal. This comes after university sports faced multiple setbacks throughout the pandemic. Ontario University Athletics canceled its entire fall and winter season in 2020-2021. The season carried on with some restrictions in 2021-2022.
