Movie Nights at Kingston Penitentiary makes return starting September 1st

Kingston, ON – Kingston Pen Tours is bringing back its outdoor movie screening series within prison walls. “Movie Nights at Kingston Penitentiary” was first launched by the St. Lawrence Park Commission in 2022 and is slated to return on September 1, with tickets currently available for purchase.

The Movie Night at Kingston Penitentiary series will feature four classic films on four separate date:

  • The Truman Show (September 1, 2023)
  • Escape from Alcatraz (September 2, 2023)
  • Bon Cop, Bad Cop (September 8, 2023)
  • The Shawshank Redemption (September 9, 2023)

Each screening will include a visit to a feature area of Kingston Pen and a special presentation before the film begins.

What Guests Need to Know

  • All movie experiences are outdoor events and will run rain or shine (extreme weather excepted). Please dress for the weather.
  • Doors open at 7 p.m. with a special presentation at 7:15 p.m., followed by the movie at 8 p.m.
  • Guests need to bring their own chair and arrive early.
  • An indoor concession will be available to guests with popcorn, soft drinks and souvenirs available for purchase.
  • There is no intermission.

Admission prices vary from $11.13 for Military members to $21.13 for General Admission.
