Pumping Up The Lionhearts Pulse Program

(December 21, 2020) As of Dec. 13, Lionhearts Inc. has served 168,435 meals to the people of Kingston, Napanee, and the surrounding area as part of their effort to support those in need.

“We are so thankful for the community support that has enabled our Street Project program to continue and thrive,” said Travis Blackmore, Executive Director, Lionhearts Inc. “As COVID cases rise and restrictions return, the need remains strong. We continue to see demand for an average of 800 meal kits a day.”

On top of serving meals, Lionhearts has launched a new program in partnership with Kingston Webworks, IG Wealth Management Kingston and Quinte, and The Clark Estate.

“These three generous donors recently teamed up to offer a $30,000 matching program for any new monthly donations through our Pulse Program in December,” continued Blackmore. “Here’s what that means: you pledge $50 a month, which feeds ten people for one day per month. Then, your money gets tripled by these generous donors and you’re now feeding thirty people per month for a year! And all it cost you was $50 a month.”

By pledging monthly, donors are helping Lionhearts plan and budget to keep this vital program running for the hundreds who rely upon it.

Lionhearts is currently 15 percent of the way to the new donor signup goal, which means there is some room to grow before the month is out. If residents of Kingston, Napanee, and the surrounding area are looking for Christmas gift ideas this year, a donation in someone else’s name is a great way to bless someone in need and make a lasting impact through gift giving this holiday season.
