Three funeral home staff test positive for COVID-19

Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes at Townhill Chapel has confirmed that three staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. In a statement on their website, the affected employees have been sent home and are in quarantine.

“We take this matter extremely seriously. We have immediately taken steps to protect our customers and other staff, sterilize our facilities, and cooperate with KFL&A Public Health on any additional precautions.” Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes wrote.

“To ensure the chapel can remain open to serve the community, our staff from our sister chapel The Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes – Central Chapel will be supporting our Township Chapel. Our staff are always available to answer any questions that you may have, as well as continue to provide phone, virtual and in-person consultations,” the statement added.

As of February 4th, there are 13 active cases in the KFLA region. Two active cases are being hospitalized and one is in ICU.
