Kingston Police have released further video footage of a suspect in a double homicide that took place over October’s Homecoming weekend celebrations.

Carl-Alan Delphin, 21 years old and also known as the rapper ‘Lito’, and Nico Soubliere, 29, – both from Ottawa and seen in Kingston partaking in Homecoming celebrations – were shot on the evening of October 16 and found near the Sydenham Road and Highway 401 area.

Delphin was pronounced dead on the scene, whereas Soubliere succumbed to his injuries days later at Kingston General Hospital.

Up to this point, very little information in the case has been made public, outside of police confirming they had identified suspects and were looking at a KIA Optima with Quebec plates as a central piece of evidence.

In June, police released images of the suspect in question with little known info other than he was a black male between the age of 25-40, at least 6’2″, approximately 275 pounds and not a resident of Kingston.

Now on Tuesday morning, Kingston Police released a statement and accompanying video saying with assistance from members of the public, new video footage has been received of the previously identified suspect in the case.

“The male can be seen attempting to conceal his identity by overdressing and is believed to go by the street name ‘Sophia,’” said Detective Constable Joel Fisher.

“It is also believed that the parties were familiar with each other prior to the day of the murders and that the parking lot on Sydenham Road was intended to be the site of a drug transaction.”

Fisher continues asking anyone who may be able to help identify this man to contact him at jfisher@kingstonpolice.ca or 613-549-4660 ext. 6338 or Sergeant Chad Parslow at cparslow@kingstonpolice.ca or 613-549-4660 ext. 6245.
