On Saturday September 24th, Big Paws, our signature event, annual fundraiser, and biggest community
event of the year, is back at City Park. Big Paws brings together Kingston community members, and
their dogs, for a guided pledge walk, interactive activities for humans and their four legged friends, and
the chance to shop at a vendor market filled with local businesses, and win some prizes.
Big Paws has been a flagship fundraising event for 24 years and it’s always something the community
looks forward to.
The event itself is a guided 2 km walk through historic downtown Kingston but it’s also much more than
that. This year’s festivities will feature a vendor market filled with more than 30 local businesses, along
with interactive activities, a silent auction and the chance to win prizes.
Participants can collect pledges ahead of time, either online or by cash/cheque (which they can present
on the day of the event). Participants are encouraged to bring their dogs, but anyone can participate
pet-free as well.
Registration will open at 9:30am, and the guided walk will begin at 11:00am. Walkers can start a pledge
page online, or print the pledge form from our website and present it with the pledge money at the
registration table on the day of the event. Each walker is asked to raise a minimum of $25 to participate.
All of the funds raised at Big Paws in City Park will go towards life-saving surgeries, veterinary care and
equipment, medications, pet ownership education, and everything else we need to support the
neglected, abandoned and abused animals in our community.
We are overjoyed to be back in City Park and we’re grateful for all the support we’ve received so far.
Watch our website and our social media for more updates on Big Paws in City Park and to see which
vendors, prizes, and other fun surprises will be there!
