Council has unanimously supported a motion calling on the Province of Ontario to prioritize and fund the Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) redevelopment project.
KHSC is the largest acute care and cancer centre in Southeastern Ontario, serving more than 500,000 residents across the region. The proposed redevelopment includes a major rebuild of the aging Kingston General Hospital site and the Cancer Centre of Eastern Ontario.
The motion, brought forward by Councillor Conny Glenn, urges the Province to make the project a top capital priority and calls on neighbouring municipalities to amplify the message.
