Several Positive COVID-19 Cases Confirmed at the Mansion Restaurant & Bar

KFL&A Public health is confirming that several patrons who were COVID-19 positive attended the Mansion Restaurant & Bar, located at 506 Princess St, Kingston. The patrons tested positive after attending the bar.

Public Health is now recommending that individuals who attended The Mansion Restaurant and Bar on Monday, March 29, between 6:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. or Friday, April 2, between 5 p.m. and 9:15 p.m self monitor for symptoms.

“Individuals who develop symptoms should isolate immediately and get tested at one of our local assessment centres,” said Dr. Kieran Moore, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health.

If you were affected by the exposure, KFL&A Public Health is recommending that patrons get tested on or after seven days following the exposure dates, or on March 29th and April 2nd respectively.

The Mansion responded to the news release via social media. “In coordination with KFLA public health, a media release was sent out today regarding individuals who happened to attend the Mansion last week and have since tested positive for Covid-19.” the Mansion said.

Following testing, the Mansion has confirmed that 2 of their 3 staff tested negative for COVID-19. “Out of an abundance of caution, all of our staff have been asked to get tested even if they didn’t work those particular days,” said the Mansion.

“As part of the COVID-19 case management and contact tracing process, KFL&A Public Health follows up with close contacts of individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19,” the statement said. “If the contact tracing team are unable to identify close contacts of an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, a public release may be issued to reach those contacts.”
